If you believe your identity has been stolen or your account compromised, act immediately. Report it to the police, notify any organisations that may be affected (including Oz Lotteries, on 1300 188 911 or support@ozlotteries.com), and update your passwords, starting with your email if that may be compromised too.
What should I do if my identity has been stolen or compromised?
If you think your identity has been stolen, act straight away. If you believe any of your accounts may have been accessed or taken over, follow these steps:
- Report it to the police, with as much information as you can. You'll be given a police report number, which you can share with any organisations you have accounts with.
- Notify any organisations you have accounts with, or suspect may have been accessed. They can help secure your account by locking it, updating passwords, and investigating the issue.
- Update your passwords. If you think your email has been compromised, update that password first, since your email can be used to reset passwords on your other accounts.
Where can I get more information about identity fraud?
- OAIC (Australian Government): oaic.gov.au
- IDCARE: idcare.org, or call 1800 595 160
What should I do if my Oz Lotteries account has been compromised?
Notify us straight away by calling us on 1300 188 911. We'd recommend calling rather than emailing if you suspect your email may also be compromised. We'll ask questions to assess the risk to your account, and secure it by locking it from further transactions while we investigate.
If you'd prefer to email us instead, send your details to support@ozlotteries.com with as much detail as possible:
- Your date of birth
- Your postcode
- Your registered email address
- Details of any suspected fraudulent purchases or deposits on your account
