Lotto Party has two roles: the Organiser, who creates the group and invites friends, and the Joiner, who accepts an invite and purchases a share. You can play on the website or the app.
What do I need to play Lotto Party?
You'll need an Oz Lotteries account. For a smooth experience organising or joining a Lotto Party, make sure to register before you get started. See How do I set up an account? for instructions.
How do I set up a Lotto Party as an organiser?
You can set up a new Lotto Party group by following the instructions below:
Website instructions
- Click on My Account then Lotto party.
- Click on Create a new group
- Enter a group name then click Next
- Select which draw you want to enter then click Next
- Select the price for each share, then click Next
- Choose whether you want your group's ticket to be one-off or a recurring purchase. See How do recurring purchases work for Lotto Party? below. Then click Save & next.
- Choose how many shares you want to purchase, then click Join & add to cart.
- To invite players, return to the Lotto Party, then click View group.
- Click Invite friends, then send invites using the available sharing options.
App instructions
- Tap the Lotto Party tab on the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap Create Party
- Enter the name of your group, then tap Next
- Select which draw you want to enter, then tap Next
- Select the price for each share, then tap Next.
- Choose whether you want your group's ticket to be one-off or a recurring purchase. See How do recurring purchases work for Lotto Party? below. Then tap Save & invite.
- Invite your friends using the available sharing options.
- Tap Join Ticket to purchase your own share.
- Proceed to checkout.
How do I join a Lotto Party?
You can join an existing Lotto Party group by following the instructions below:

- Open the invite link you received from the organiser
- Click Count me in!
- Choose whether you'd like your own share to be a one-off or recurring purchase, if the organiser has allowed this. See How do recurring purchases work for Lotto Party? below. Then tap Add to cart.
- Proceed to checkout.
App instructions
- Open the invite you received from the organiser.
- Tap the link provided in the invite.
- Once the app opens, tap Join ticket.
- Choose whether you'd like your own share to be a one-off or recurring purchase, if the organiser has allowed this. See How do recurring purchases work for Lotto Party? below.
- Proceed to checkout.
How do recurring purchases work for Lotto Party?
The organiser decides whether the group's ticket is a one-off or recurring purchase when setting up the group.
If the organiser chooses a recurring purchase, each joiner can then choose whether their own share is one-off or recurring. If the organiser chooses a one-off purchase, joiners won't have the option to make their share recurring.
